Marie Rose Sauce (for Prawn Salads and so on!)

I got to admit, when I’m rummaging around in the kitchen putting together a quick comforting midday snack, I’ll often make up a salad with whatever needs using up, and then happily pour on something out of a jar, like Colman’s Seafood Sauce.  (Or Prawn Marie Rose sauce as the chattering, intelligentsia, upwardly mobile classes call it).  It’s one of my guilty pleasures.

So, anyway, I realised it’d be easier to make it at home, rather than drag myself out in the freezing Arctic cold to the supermarket, just to buy a jar of something labelled as ‘Seafood Sauce’.

HOW TO MAKE IT!

Mix 4 tablespoons of decent mayonnaise with 2 heaped teaspoons of tomato ketchup. Add a squirt of lemon juice and pinch of paprika or chilli powder.

Stir it all together, taste, and add more lemon juice / paprika if required.
